Profile
I
earned my undergraduate degree from Tulane University in 1970
and my law degree from Tulane School of Law in 1973. I was
admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1974.
For
six years, I served as an Assistant Cook County State’s
Attorney, prosecuting criminal felony cases including numerous
non-jury and jury trials. Later I established a small general
practice concentrating in criminal defense, civil litigation,
real estate and employment related matters. I was also an
arbitrator for the Cook County Circuit Court’s Mandatory
Arbitration program.
Along
the way, I participated in pro bono legal services for the
Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation and The Ark. Most
recently, I was litigation counsel to the Illinois Attorney
Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) where I investigated
and prosecuted violations of the Illinois Rules of Professional
Conduct.
In
addition to my professional career, I have been a board member
of several nonprofit organizations including CEL, which provides
life enrichment programs for disabled individuals; and the
Chicago Lakefront AYSO - Region 418, where I am a soccer referee,
an administrator and referee instructor.
Professional
memberships include: the Chicago Bar Association, the Decalogue
Society of Lawyers, the Illinois Real Estate Lawyer’s
Association, and the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. |
